Aaarrggghhh
I've gone NINE words over my limit! No problem, I'll read through it later and cut some of my 'descriptive' words out :-)
G'nite all!
dear friends,.
much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

It's just gone midnight.
I'm putting the finishing touches to my essay.
Time for a cuppa tea, the sugar plus mild caffeine fix will keep me awake a bit longer but not all night!
my friends.... you are misguided.
i do not mean to attack you, but i have a vew issues i would like to discuss.. first off... .
witnesses the bible says that man cannot even comprehend heaven... how would anyone know that 144,000 people will live in heaven when the old testament says in the first book genesis and got parted the waters from the world and the heaven so earths population is almost 4 billion people... how is only 144,000 people... or as i guess 144000 godlike beings going to inhabit a world as big as that ... which brings me to the next point 144000 godlike beings f they are godlike then there are 144,001 gods which is polytheistic.
first off...
you mean there's more?
Maybe you oughta read a bit more on this site first and save some bandwidth
oh yes, welcome to the choir! Some of us don't do any religion any more though...
now that most of the major news sources are saying that the usa is already in a recession - will there be a run on the banks like there was in the uk in the fall?
i know that the government insists that will never happen because they insure your funds up to a specific amount but so far already two banks have reduced the amount of money that you can withdraw from your account.
they say its because of increased theft from their atm machines but who's really willing to buy that excuse?
I think the UK bank you're thinking of is the Northern Rock BS?
That had nothing to do with recession - they just lent out more money than they had, they borrowed money themselves in order to loan it to Joe Public, then I guess because fewer people were actually depositing money (cos we're all spending it rather than saving!), they struggled to pay back what they've borrowed. Then rumours started that the bank was bust...
Actually, if the investors/depositors hadn't panicked and started withdrawing their money, the bank would have been in a good position because providing most people don't default on their loans and mortgages, all that money will be being paid back - so the bank will have regular income (plus interest) from the loans during a time when fewer people are actually depositing money.
jehovah's witnesses leave out and change words that appear in the original greek text because it does not fit doctrane ?.
are people/organisations that do this not cursed by jehovah ?.
.
they have left complete words out even though it appears in the greek manuscript
They aren't unique in doing this. Some of the major Bible translations have done quite a bit of editing too...
as most of you now know, i do commercial janitorial for a living !
lol!
especially after seeing the thread i posted today !
Thanks eclipse
The job I have now is good because I'm in a business partnership with folks who I know, so if I get over stressed, at least I'm able to have a good rant at them! I'd still rather not get stressed at all though!
I loved the dyeing/chemical industry but the risks were very high (as you see lol!). I was very fortunate when the wrench got me - it hit me towards the back of my head. If it had landed another couple of inches forward, my skull would probably have been smashed. Phew!!

A 300mm (12") one of these fell on my head once:
OUCH is an understatement
Another time, I had a tiny hole in my protective gloves and I got a spot of 77% sulphuric acid on my finger. First I knew about it was that it itched so I washed the spot thoroughly. It was to no avail - within a week, my flesh was gone almost down to the bone. I developed mild industrial asthma from being sensitised to some of the dyes I worked with, this has vastly improved since I left the industry, I only have problems if I get a chest infection now. I've worked with some very nasty chemicals including known carcinogens - any possible effects yet to be seen but hopefully not. My final job within the dyeing/chemical industry was only marred in the final 3 years where I ended up working for a boss who always demanded more and more work from me and treated me less than acceptably.
In my current job which I've done for four years, I just have stress!!
to me this is one the most nauseating sayings.
i hear it all the time.
"i'm sooo blessed, i got over that awful cold i had last week".. how are your kids?
Just my own thoughts here. I understand what you mean if someone says 'God's really blessing my socks off' etc etc. The last thing you want to hear especially if your own life happens to be full of $hit at that time!
On the other hand, reading through the posts so far, I wonder whether it is your conscious or subconscious association of the word with Christianity (and hence WBTS)? As Bikerchic and Gopher have mentioned - nobody bats an eyelid at other common references to blessings - "bless you!" when you sneeze, "bless your heart" as a term of endearment, "a blessing in disguise" when something unexpectedly good comes out of a bad situation.
Take away the Christian (or any other religious) connotation and it's just either a wish for your well-being or someone saying how they feel about life - who can seriously begrudge things going well for someone else (even though things might not be great for you personally)?
Blessed be!
I'm north of Boston!
Oh wait...
Guess you didn't mean Boston, Lincolnshire?
we received a parcel for our boys today from besty's mother.
presents, photos (of seals!
) and a card addressed to them asking for some photos of them!
I want to send her a thank you note because we're bigger than all this childishness but on the other hand I think why should I, she wants emergency contact only.
I'd give the boys their presents - they're young enough yet not to fully grasp what's going on between the adults - anything could happen by the time they're older, so for now at least, maybe some contact is better than none. Just keep an eye on how things develop.
And I would send that thank you note regardless of her instructions. Why? You said it yourself - you're bigger than that
How 'bout all four of you contribute to the thank-you note - get the podlets to do a drawing or something? I dunno why I suggested that - something along the lines of presenting her with a united family front I guess.
Don't do anything until you've calmed down and are thinking rationally!
